La vitamina B12 es importante en el mantenimiento de nuestro metabolismo, c\u00e9lulas sangu\u00edneas y funci\u00f3n nerviosa. La mayor\u00eda de las personas obtienen suficiente vitamina B12 en su dieta, pero algunas necesitan suplementos. Ciertas condiciones de salud como problemas intestinales o estomacales, mala nutrici\u00f3n, c\u00e1ncer, VIH, embarazo, vejez, veganismo y alcoholismo pueden causar deficiencia de vitamina B12.
